Multiplication Strategies - The Area Model

The area model is much the same as the Box Method, but you will notice that the "boxes are drawn differently with the total "area" in each box being proportional to the size of the box. Some of our students really connect with the concept of computing area and so they might decide that using this method works for them. And who doesn't love a little steel drum music? ;-)
